BONUS: Follow this link for a nice summary made by Linda Bennet at Boise State University and one of my favorite videos on alkali metals. The first video is more current but beware, it's FAKE. But, it's entertaining. The second video is probably from the 1980's or earlier but it's a true representation of the properties of alkali metals and the reactivity trend in water. In fact, alkali metals are so awesome I taught my 4 year old how to say them all and that it goes BOOM! in water.
